Shendurjana Ghat

Town of more than 23000 population, situated on the banks of two small rivers called Devana and Jivana. Confluence of these rivers is on south side of town. On every friday their is weekly market in Malkapur area. This town is famous for orange saplings nurseries called "Panheri".
Very good quality Oranges are produced from orchards ("Bagicha") around this town. But now area under Orange orchards is decreasing due to water table of this area is going down.
The municipality at Shendurjana was established in 1948 and the area under its jurisdiction is 10.20 km2 (3.949 sq. miles).
Shendurjana ghat is a beautiful place with Natural Scenery around the town. Maharashtra- Madhya Pradesh border is just 8 km away from town. Since long time its holding its first place in production of Orange Saplings (Panheri) in India. Farmers from allover India comes to Shendurjana Ghat for Panheri. It is also has its major Contribution in NAGPUR ORANGE production. This town is surrounded by beautiful places like Forests (Mahendri, Pandhari), Dams (Nagthana-1, Nagthana-2, Pusli and Satnur) and ancient Temples of Hindu Gods (Gaymukh, Mata Balasundari). Mata Balasundari's temple is 6th of 6 temples in India. Maramaay Khedi (East), Kedareshwar Temple (West), Gaymukh & Kanhoba Temple (North) and Mata Balasundari Temple (South) are religious places of Hindu. There are also 5-6 mosques (Pipalpura, Balapeth, Malkapur etc.) and a Budhhist Temple at Malkapur area of Shendurjana Ghat. Its almost a developed town with Cement Concrete roads, good sanitation, good drainage systems, street lights, and most important, this town has KG to PG education facility. Janata Girls high school has its own Girls Hostel built in 2014. Shendurjana ghat has 2-3 English Convents, 3 Municipality primary schools (1st to 4th Std.) and Janata Education Society's Schools and college. PG courses for Arts (M.A.) are available at Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee College. 5th to 12th Std. education available with Science, Arts, Commerce and MCVC faculties. Municipality has its own Fire Brigade vehicle and prompt service.
